South Sacramento Parking and Traffic Changes
We are expanding our Kaiser Permanente Medical Center to better meet the needs of our growing communities in South Sacramento and Elk Grove. Our expansion will add more hospital beds, expand our Emergency Room, and add an outpatient surgery center, which we just completed in April. We expect to open the new hospital tower in 2011.
We will do our best to minimize the impact of construction on our patients. Providing quality care and service to you is our highest priority. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our campus to serve the health care needs of our growing community.ity.
Our new five-story, 882-parking structure is now open for members and guests. It is located the Medical Office Buildings and Pharmacy. There is no cost to park in the garage. Patients and guests may also park in lots 1 and 2 on the north side of the campus near the Alta Valley entrance.
Free valet service is available between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays at the entrance of the main Medical Office Buildings for members and guests with an ADA placard or license plate. Tips are not accepted. Please see below for information about valet service hours and free shuttle service.
Please note the following changes:
- To improve safety along Bruceville Road and provide better and safer access to our campus, we will be installing a traffic signal and making other roadway improvements to a stretch of Bruceville Road, between the Highway 99 exit/on-ramp to Wyndham Drive. A majority of the project – which is scheduled to start Monday, May 17 and conclude Sept. 1 – will be conducted at night, from roughly 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday through Friday. During the night work, the emergency entrance will remain open to patient and ambulance traffic.
- The entrance by the Emergency Room serves as the drop-off and pick-up area for the hospital. This temporary change is necessary due to the construction of a new hospital tower to better serve our community. The drop-off area is located next to a short walkway that leads to the hospital.
- As part of the work to expand the Emergency Room to enhance our ability to provide trauma care, the parking lots south of the pediatric clinics and the ambulance entrance for the ER are closed.
- Shuttle service is provided from the first floor of the parking garage to the main medical office building entrance and the hospital/ER entrance throughout the day.
